Awesome Cetta Moment of the Day

Tired and cranky but still not ready to sleep yet, I set Cetta in her high chair and gave her some pasta and veggies which she was going to town on.  She was making cute little faces and blowing raspberries so I leaned in to make kissy faces at her and with her little fist tightly grasping her food, she extended her hand to my mouth to share her stick of zucchini with me.  First time she has ever shared her food with me.  :) 

Awesome Cetta Moment (as witnessed by Daddy)

Cetta's 8 months and going strong.  She's crawling with lightning speed, standing by herself, traveling and cruising.  She babbles very cutely. Has 2 bottom teeth and is getting 4 top teeth.  She learned to clap in Massachusetts and made a wonderful travel companion.  Today, while Mama got ready for work after breakfast, Daddy watched her hustle to the kitchen, stand up at the stove, and reach for the buttons and pretend to cook like Mama.  Makes a mommy proud.  :)  ... and scared. 

The babymoon is over. Let the destruction begin!

Cetta turns six months in a couple of days.  This wonderful milestone coincides with her desire to hold things.  All the things*! It has also coincided with her ability to move towards the edge of things.  She loves to hang off the edge and reach for things, or just reach for the floor.  Perhaps she has a bright roofing career ahead of her.  She's still an absolute delight. 

 Here we are at her first SXSW.  We saw Thao and the Get Down Stay Down and followed it up with a shot of OzoKids.  She is now telling me that she would like to get out of her bouncy chair and finally go to bed.  The end.

I think that Brett works in one of the best restaurants in Austin.  The food is consistently AMAZING and they're always doing new things, surprising things!  Duck in a Jar (Jar Jar Duck)! Tabacco Cream as a dessert (It's my favorite, I'll have you know.) Well, apparently I'm not the only one.  So, if you need extra reason to book that ticket to Austin before July, here's some extra incentive:

It just goes on and on from here folks.

So now I have more to rave about Austin than the Mexican food and bountiful supply of breakfast tacos on every corner.  And I have to say, at least one waiter at Uchiko is awfully charming.  ;)   

Murphys' Valentine's Day.

How about a romantic Valentine's Day lunch with your husband since he got called in to work today? Make that a rushed Valentine's day lunch since you forgot to turn off the lights last night which meant not only are you walking to the Mediterranean place down the street, but hubster is walking to work. Things look up when you successfully jump your car, but then the fates add in major traffic accident and a train delay on your way to work causing you to be late. To top it off, during class, one of your student's blood pressure dropped and she practically passed out and ended up going home early. Wee... Happy Valentine's Day. Now to order the Valentine's Day pizza.

Tonight, while waiting for my husband to come home, I came to realization that:
1. Cetta, when left to her own devices on the couch, is perfectly content to stare at her hands and blow bubbles.
2. Never before have I found that to be endearing or cute in a human being.

Funny Tomatoes

"How did you like the pasta?"
"It was good but the tomato things were funny"
Wife scratches her head. "There weren't any tomatoes in the pasta."
"The round things."
"Those were carrots."

Note to self: Include more fruits and vegetables in husband's diet.

Missing the point?

She's definitely teething, but clearly missing the point on solid food.


I suppose I should be grateful that I don't have to share my bacon yet.
